PARNELL, Mo. -- A 75-year-old Stanberry man's body was located Thursday morning following an overnight search of a private pond 1.5 miles north of Parnell.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Herbert K. VanVactor's body was located deceased from a drowning incident at the pond. His personal possessions had been located near the pond initiating the search around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
VanVactor was pronounced dead by Worth County Coroner Sharon Supinger on Thursday.
Corporal N.J. Greiner was assisted at the scene by Cpl. B.E. Maudlin, Trooper C.P. Justice, Conservation Agent B. Lyddon, Conservation Agent A. Maupin, Conservation Agent K. Smith, Conservation Agent J. Roller, Worth County Sheriff's Office and the Clarinda Dive Team.
