The boys are fighting, and this time it could cost Matt Damon and Ben Affleck their lives.

The longtime friends and frequent collaborators have teamed up once more for Netflix's new crime drama The Rip, which promises to be an action-packed affair that "takes a look at the things people will do for money."

The film, based on a true story, follows a team of Miami cops whose relationships with one another are put to the test after they find millions of dollars in cash during a search and seizure. As outside forces learn about the size of the stash, everything is called into question -- including who they can rely on.

Netflix unveiled the first teaser on Wednesday morning, revealing a proper look at the gruff-looking Damon and Affleck -- the pair previously shared that they'd been growing out their beards together for the film -- with their star-studded team including Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

Their unit "works the dope game, drugs, guns, but the majority of your work consists of cash seizures," the teaser explains. But when a search of a derelict stash house uncovers $20 million instead of the $300,000 they were tipped about, things take a turn for the troublesome.

"No one needs to die tonight. You have 30 minutes to get out of that house," a modulated voice tells Affleck's Det. Sergeant JD Byrne over the phone, leading to pure chaos as the unit scrambles to figure out what is going on and who they can trust to get them all out of the house alive.

But when there's $20 million on the line, the question of "Are we the good guys" becomes a lot harder to answer.

The Netflix flick is the latest collaboration between Affleck and Damon, who have been close friends for more than 40 years since their time together at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School outside of Boston.

The two both famously won Oscars for cowriting the 1997 drama Good Will Hunting, and, even before forming their production company, they've worked on numerous projects together over the years, such as The Last Duel, Jersey Girl, Dogma, and more.

While promoting 2023's Air, Affleck told Vanity Fair, "At some point we got convinced of this idea, like, 'Well, you don't wanna work together all the time, you'll become sort of associated with each other.' And that's negative," he explained. "But ultimately, it was sort of like, 'f--- that. I don't know, let's work together.' Cause that's the beautiful, that's the fun."

"We can now look at the last 20 years and go like, 'Well the benefit of hindsight, what would we have done differently?'" Damon said in the same interview. "And I think we both came to the conclusion that we would've worked together a lot more."

Néstor Carbonell, Kyle Chandler, Scott Adkins, and Lina Esco round out the cast ensemble.
