Jelly Roll, Jonas Brothers, and Sheryl Crow Among Stars in Nashville for Stand Up To Cancer Special

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The red carpet is rolling out at The Pinnacle in downtown Nashville for a night of music in and a mission to save lives. Stand Up To Cancer's ninth biennial televised fundraising special is being recorded in Music City for the first time.

The one-hour special will feature performances from Jelly Roll, the Jonas Brothers, Dan + Shay, CeCe Winans with the Nashville Community Gospel Choir, Noah Cyrus, Gavin DeGraw, Marcus King, Brothers Osborne, and Jon Pardi. Grammy Award-winning artist Sheryl Crow will host and perform, joined by special appearances from Tim McGraw, Reese Witherspoon, Keith Urban, and more.

For Sheryl Crow, the night's mission is deeply personal.

"I am celebrating 20 years cancer free in April," Crow said. "I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I am a poster child for early detection. I didn't have my kids yet, so I was literally like, I don't want to have to stop everything and get a mammogram, but I did it, and I had breast cancer. So I'm constantly on that mission for early detection."

Since 2008, Stand Up To Cancer has united more than 3,100 researchers from over 210 leading institutions in 16 countries. Their efforts have led to breakthroughs in early detection, treatment, and prevention. The organization says this collaboration has already helped save tens of thousands of lives.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

This year's special will air Friday, August 15, at 7 p.m..

As part of a month-long #Up2Us to #StandUpToCancer campaign, creators on Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook are also hosting fundraising streams through August 31 to raise awareness and support research.

Stand Up To Cancer's event in Nashville was a group effort. It was made possible with support from the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, and other local partners.
