The University of Central Arkansas dropped its penultimate regular season game, dropping its final series to North Alabama Friday night at Bear Stadium in Conway.
The Lions (22-29, 15-14 Atlantic Sun Conference) opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-run home run off pitcher Charlie Christensen. The Bears (19-32, 12-17) matched that with runs on a Preston Curtis solo home run and a Carter Alexander RBI single in the second inning to make it 2-2.
North Alabama's Petey Craska hit his second home run in the third inning before UCA's Jagger Schattle tied the score 3-3 with an RBI single in the fourth inning.
The Lions then scored five runs over the next three innings to take a five-run lead. Curtis hit his second home run, another solo shot, in the ninth inning to make the score 8-4.
Curtis had three of the Bears' six hits. Schattle, Alexander and Noah Goodshield each had one.
