Three NY Hospitals Ranked In World's Top 100, 13 Recognized Nationally: See The Full List

When it comes to medical care, not all hospitals are created equally, and patients want the best treatment available, whether it's for a routine procedure or a life-saving intervention.

Newsweek has released its World's Best Hospitals 2025 list. The rankings, created in collaboration with global data firm Statista, scored hospitals based on expert surveys, patient experience, and hospital performance metrics.

Eleven hospitals in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic earned spots among the top 250 worldwide. The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore was ranked No. 4 globally, only trailing the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, the Cleveland Clinic, and Toronto General Hospital.

Three Boston hospitals were among the world's best: Massachusetts General Hospital (sixth place), Brigham and Women's Hospital (21st), and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (116th). New York City also had three hospitals in the global top 250: The Mount Sinai Hospital (19th), New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell (77th), and NYU Langone Hospitals - Tisch Hospital (93rd).

Two medical centers associated with Ivy League schools also were recognized in the international rankings. In Philadelphia, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania was ranked 63rd and Connecticut's Yale New Haven Hospital came in 161st place.

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore finished just outside the top 200 in 211th place. Jefferson Health - Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia closed out the global rankings in 250th place.

Newsweek celebrated more than 2,400 hospitals from 30 countries, highlighting institutions that lead in research, technology, and patient outcomes. The website ranked the top 412 general hospitals in the US, along with recognizing eight special hospitals.
