It was only a matter of time before Jake Paul expressed his desire to join his brother, Logan, in a WWE ring.
On the heels of a victory over Mike Tyson in the biggest boxing match of the last five years, for better or worse, the polarizing actor, YouTube, and professional fighter expressed his desire to do just that on the latest edition of Impaulsive (20:01).
"I would love to, but I would want to be like your Paul Heyman. I wouldn't want to wrestle as much, like I could do some s--t, but I'd want to be like your sidekick businessman or some s--t," he told his brother.
It remains to be seen whether the younger Paul sibling could resist the physicality of WWE when he is, quite literally, paid to punch people in the face elsewhere, but his answer does beg the question: what would a WWE run look like for Jake?
Logan's Wise Man
Like him or not, Jake is a showman who knows how to sell a fight and get under his haters' skin. He can make his fights must-see events for fans and those who want to see him catch an uppercut to the jaw. For better or worse, he is a master sports entertainer and someone who would thrive in professional wrestling.
Especially as the mouthpiece for his arrogant, conceded, hated brother and former United States champion, Logan.
Unlike the very Heyman he referenced when describing his ideal role, Jake would likely be more physical while running interference on behalf of his brother, throwing rights and lefts while directly influencing the outcome of The Maverick's battles.
We saw Jake in a similar role at Crown Jewel in October of 2022 when Logan challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in one of that year's best matches.
The younger of the Paul brothers is even more over the top in his promotion of whatever he is involved in, which would bring more hype to Logan's feuds and matches. Beyond that, it would set the stage for a WrestleMania return for Tyson, who last appeared at the event in 1998.
WrestleVotes revealed on WrestleVotes Radio that WWE wants to bring Tyson in for a WrestleMania 41 confrontation with Logan (h/t Cultaholic). It would only make sense for Jake to be there, too, elevating the significance of the moment based on his history with the Baddest Man on the Planet.
Relegating Jake to outside the squared circle may be what he foresees himself doing should he ever link up with WWE, but it would feel like a wasted opportunity.
His best usage would be in a different role, alongside his brother.
Tag Team Champions
While Triple H and WWE Creative continue to revamp the tag team divisions on Raw and SmackDown, there is little denying the boost it would give either one for Logan and Jake Paul to target the brand's titles.
The former has already competed for the industry's top prize and won the U.S. title. While there are other options for him to pursue, there would be no better way to utilize the Paul family star power than by booking them to compete for the tag team titles, thus elevating the championship and division.
Logan can already go between the ropes. We have seen him work entire 30-minute premium live event main events. He is infinitely better than he has any right to be and could easily carry most of the work while his brother catches up. The tag team setting would protect Jake and prevent his weaknesses from being exposed.
Putting them in the ring with seasoned teams like The Street Profits, DIY, the Motor City Machine Guns, and Pretty Deadly in regular and multi-team matches would help significantly with the division's rejuvenation.
Beyond that, it would allow WWE to take advantage of the Pauls' mainstream, social media presence and attract viewers who otherwise may not have checked out the product. Especially on Netflix, where Jake scored his win over Tyson and WWE will be producing Raw for the next handful of years.
An inevitable sibling battle between them and The Usos would make for a legitimate marquee match that could, and would, easily headline any PLE not-named WrestleMania.
Even if the matches are sporadic or if Jake even wrestles one or two, the benefit of a tag team outweighs his wasting his physical talents outside the ring, where the returns would be limited, at best.
