The first anniversary dinner of the Brazil-Ghana Chamber of Commerce was held in Accra on Thursday to celebrate the collaboration, mutual respect, and shared vision for the future of Brazil-Ghana relations.
In attendance were the Ambassador of Brazil to Ghana, Mrs Mariana Madeira, and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Alexandre de Pádua Ramos Souto.
The event brought together distinguished guests committed to strengthening economic and cultural ties between Brazil and Ghana, including the designated Ambassador of Ghana to Brazil, Mr Nii Amasah Namoale, and former Ambassador of Ghana to Brazil, Mrs Abena P. A. Busia.
Mrs Madeira commended the Chamber the last 12 months, for being a dynamic and reliable partner in advancing Brazil-Ghana relations.
"From representing Ghanaian businesses at Expo Africa Brazil in São Paulo, to hosting impactful networking events, to signing important Memoranda of Understanding with institutions such as the São Paulo Chamber of Commerce and Think Plastic Brazil, I see the Chamber has consistently promoted collaboration, innovation, and shared growth. These initiatives demonstrate the Chamber's dynamism and commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation," she stated.
Mrs Madeira mentioned that the Embassy of Brazil was committed to advancing this priority, with the Chamber as a trusted ally.
"As we celebrate this milestone, let us look ahead with ambition. The Embassy of Brazil will continue working hand in hand with the Chamber to foster stronger ties, new opportunities, and sustainable growth for both nations.
Congratulations once again to the Chamber, its leadership, and all its members," Mrs Madeira indicated.
additionally, she said the Chamber plays a vital role in strengthening trade between our countries by building bridges between business communities; fosters the confidence and structure needed to expand commerce, which is essential for shared prosperity, helping to open
new avenues in agribusiness and technology.
In her remarks, Mrs Edinam Adjei-Sika President, Brazil-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, said the Chamber would deepen partnerships with local and international partners.
She underlined that the Brazil-Ghana Chamber of Commerce would ensure strategic partnerships with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), ApexBrasil, São Paulo Chamber of Commerce, Think Plastic Brazil, and many others.
Moreover, Mrs Adjei-Sika noted that the Chamber would expand its membership, inviting more companies from agriculture, energy, logistics, tourism, and the creative industries.
"We will invest in agriculture and agro-industry collaborations, ensuring Brazilian agritech meets Ghanaian agribusiness potential," Mrs Adjei-Sika Sika added.
Again, the Brazil-Ghana Chamber of Commerce boss said her outfit would continue to elevate cultural diplomacy -- because trust, friendship, and business grow best in soil enriched with shared culture.
When the journey began a year ago, Mrs Adjei-Sika emphasised that their vision was simple, yet ambitious: to build a bridge that connects Brazil and Ghana -- not only in trade and investment, but also in culture, innovation, and friendship.
This year, Mrs Adjei-Sika said the Brazil-Ghana Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Ghana Embassy in Brazil represented eight small Ghanaian businesses, giving them a platform to reach new markets at the Expo Africa Brazil in São Paulo.
"Together with Bontempo, we hosted a business networking event at their showroom, opening doors for Brazilian design in Ghana," she revealed.
She also disclosed that the Chamber visited the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr John Dumelo, alongside members, and created the opportunity for Usibras to directly raise issues affecting their operations in Ghana.
Mrs Adjei-Sika said the Chamber met the CEO of GIPC, to position the Chamber as a partner for future trade and investment missions.
