A mother has paid tribute to her son a year after he died in what detectives described as an "execution-style killing".

Mustapha Jatta, 30, died from gunshot wounds after being found by police in Kings Langley, near Watford, at about 00:33 BST on 17 September 2024.

Hertfordshire Police said it had arrested 19 people over the past year and 15 of those were still people of interest.

In a statement released by the force, Mr Jatta's mother said she, his brother and children were paying tribute to a man born with a "great heart and sense of humour".

"From the moment he was born, Mustapha brought me so much joy," said his mother, whose name police did not release.

"We miss him so terribly. Rest in peace dear, we love you,"

Officers are still seeking information about a red and black Ford Fiesta which was seen in Furtherfields, Abbots Langley, before the murder.

Det Insp Adam Bridges said: "We've been making significant progress over the last few months and this can be seen through the recent arrests made over the summer.

"There is still time to do the right thing and come forward if you have information."
