BRISTOL, Va. - Fire broke out for the second time in about a month on the former Virginia Intermont College campus, but this time it extensively damaged multiple buildings.
The call came in around 1:30 a.m. and firefighters from both Bristols and across Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee descended on the Moore Street campus.
As the sun came up Friday it revealed the extent of the damage to Main Hall, which was gutted with some blazes still visible on the lower floors.
Adjacent buildings also appeared to be impacted by the fire.
In November the former college library sustained extensive damage after a fire broke out in the basement.
