One category Phillipsburg quarterback Jett Genovese can be safely put under is playmaker.
The dynamic senior is a threat any time he touches the ball, whether he takes to the air or calls his own number.

Effectively running the ball all night, Phillipsburg - No. 12 in the NJ.com Top 20 - steamrolled to a 35-6 victory over No. 19 Ramapo in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 4 semifinal at Maloney Stadium.
The Stateliners, now 11-1 on the season, have two more massive games upcoming on the schedule. Thursday will mark their annual Thanksgiving showdown vs. Easton, and they will take on Saturday's Millville/Winslow winner for the state title on December 4.

The Stateliners would navigate 76 yards in 10 plays, and ultimately got on the board first when Genovese called his own number from the five on the first play of the second quarter.
Ramapo - with its explosive offense that has averaged 30 points a game during its eight game winning streak - quickly answered on the ensuing drive.
Liam Heyward would take a handoff and bolt 56 yards, untouched, to the endzone to get the Raiders right back in it. However, the extra point attempt pinged off of the right upright and the Stateliners kept their lead at 7-6.
On a 3rd&9 during the ensuing drive, Genovese dropped back to pass, found no open receivers, scrambled and changed direction for 29 yards to put the Liners in business. Five plays later, Genovese churned his legs again, and bolted 21 yards to the house for another score, extending the lead to 14-6 after a Moreira kick.
Just before half, Phillipsburg would get the ball back with 3:35 to go in the half and score a huge touchdown just before half.
On a big third down on the first sequence, Genovese would connect with an outstretched Matthew Scerbo, Jr, for a 32-yard connection. Then, on a 4th & 9 from the Ramapo 21, Genovese rolled out, found no one open, and scored a 21-yard touchdown to put the Liners up by two scores at the half.
