Desmond Ridder has Emotional Reaction After Signing with the Raiders

In Week 7 against the Los Angeles Rams, the Raiders lost their starting quarterback, Aidan O'Connell, to a broken thumb in the first half. That meant former starter Gardner Minshew had to return, and the turnover fest continued.

After that game it became apparent the Raiders needed to sign another quarterback. If they didn't, the team would rely on Minshew and rookie Carter Bradley. So, instead of doing that, they signed former first-round pick Desmond Ridder.

The two found each other in a moment of desperation for both of them as Ridder was cut by the Arizona Cardinals earlier in the year. Now that Ridder is a Raider, he expressed how much the opportunity means to him when talking to reporters.

The start to Ridder's career hasn't gone as he would've hoped. Through two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Ridder has 3,544 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, according to ESPN.

Now he's found himself on a struggling Raiders team with no answer at quarterback so there is a real chance that he could see playing time soon. Minshew has been terrible, and O'Connell is out four to six weeks, so at some point during that time, Ridder could get a shot.
