Flashes of light illuminated the night sky in Perry, Florida, on Monday, August 5, as Hurricane Debby made landfall.

David Jones said he filmed this video of "power flashes during Debby, as she was moving onshore."

Debby was downgraded to a tropical storm and was expected to cause major flooding over the southeastern states in the coming days, according to the National Hurricane Center. Credit: David Jones via Storyful
