RIVER ARTS DISTRICT FALL FESTIVAL PROVIDES LOCAL ARTIST SPACE TO SHOWCASE WORK POST-HELENE
The owner of AVL Clay, Arleen Ferrara, says she wanted to create a place for people to make things together.
Ferrara says it's a great way to not just get creative but also to build community.
"People should have a hobby. First of all, hobbies are incredibly important to our mental health. They allow us to pull away from some of the doomscrolling and sort of rumination of what's going on in the world, and they also just stimulate our brains as we get older. They make us think in different ways," Ferrara said.
