PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Portlanders are in for a treat tonight as the full Hunter's Moon rises over the city. Thanks to our stretch of calm and sunny weather, conditions will be perfect for views of the moon.
October's full moon is the first of three "supermoons" this year. Since the moon is closer to Earth in its orbit, it will look up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the faintest moon of the year, according to NASA.
Clear skies are expected in Portland and much of the Pacific Northwest tonight through Wednesday. To see the moon, head outside this evening and look towards the south. You'll likely spot the moon high in the sky before the sun fully sets.
