Alabama's offensive coordinator may have tipped his hand as to who the starting QB is

Alabama's offensive coordinator may have tipped his hand as to who the starting QB is

Week 2 of fall camp at Alabama had an interesting development going on in Tuesday's practice.

Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb had sen all three quarterbacks work with the first, second, and third team offenses.

But one of the quarterbacks will no longer be working with the third team and that's Ty Simpson.

"All the guys are getting ones, twos, and threes with the exception of Ty, " Grubb said via the Tuscaloosa News. "He's the only guy that's not taking any three reps. Really, it's been status quo, but today, everybody got a couple racks with the ones. Ty took a couple with the twos. We're still moving them around. The guys know that. There's a pretty clean picture moving forward throughout the week."

Now, it could mean something or it could not mean anything. Grubbs continues to praise his QBs and their improvements they continue to make during practice."We've got a lot less up and down from the whole room," Grubb said. "I think that we've done a great job taking care of the football. Again, today, there was no picks. I really didn't feel that the ball was in jeopardy today, and I think that is one of the biggest things is improved decision making in the room."

Interestingly, Grubb would tell this to the media now as if to hint at least at who may be ahead right now in the QB race.

The one name that no one seems to be discussing is Austin Mack, the Washington transfer who seems to be impressing a lot of people in practice. Keep an eye out on him as this race continues because he might have more of an advantage than the other two qbs involved because he already knows this offense.
