A woman from Florida went viral after mistakenly applying nail glue instead of medical eye drops. Brianne Shipley, who shared her experience on TikTok, is now urging others to organize their medical products properly.

Shipley reported that the incident took place on October 31 while she was still groggy. She reached for what she thought were her prescribed eye drops on the nightstand. According to PEOPLE, she had been using these eye drops to treat a bacterial infection but had not yet fully integrated them into her daily routine. Her son rushed to help and looked for ways to alleviate the situation. Shipley reported that she began by flushing her eye with water in the sink, then continued in the shower.
Although this provided only temporary relief, her eye was already glued shut, and the pain was severe. After arriving at the emergency room, doctors numbed her eyes with drops and removed the hardened glue shards. They then used a Morgan Lens -- a device designed to flush out contaminants -- spending nearly half an hour cleaning her eye of the glue's acidic residue.

Medics said Shipley's quick thinking in flushing her eye with water was essential in preventing further damage. After her visit, she was sent home with a medicated ointment to help her eye heal. Although she was embarrassed by the ordeal, Shipley wanted to share her story as a warning to others to make sure their medical bottles were organized.
"I didn't think about it as a first-time eye drop user, but now I keep all my medications separate,"
