Care home resident becomes radio star after interview goes viral

Olive Boardman, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, appeared on Cheshire's Mix 56 in an interview with presenter Paul Smith, where she talked about her childhood in Lymm, her first job at the Co-op, and dancing on Rectory Lane.

Ms Boardman said: "I never expected so much fuss but it's been a lot of fun."

The broadcast is available on Cheshire's Mix 56s Facebook page and has been shared the length and breadth of the UK and with Olive's pen pal in Germany!

The general manager at Cheshire Grange Care Home said: "This has been such a special week for Olive, her birthday, meeting The Mayor of Warrington and now a radio star, she's taken it all in her stride we are immensely proud"

Ms Boardman lives at Cheshire Grange Care Home in Lymm, which is run by Barchester Healthcare.

The care home provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 50 residents from respite care to long term stays.

Ms Boardman's radio appearance was part of a special week of celebrations, which also included meeting The Mayor of Warrington.
