Roger McCreary was named a game-day captain for the Tennessee Titans for their Sunday contest against the Washington Commanders. Starting at nickelback for the Titans, McCreary made his eighth tackle of the game when he brought down running back Brian Robinson Jr. at the Washington 32-yard line at the end of the 4-yard run.
With 3:07 remaining in the third quarter, McCreary seemed within reach of his career high of 11 tackles in a 41-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 19, 2022 - just the second game of the former Williamson High School star's career.
But McCreary didn't get the opportunity. He sustained a shoulder injury tackling Robinson, left the game and did not return.
The Commanders went on to post a 42-19 victory over Tennessee.
McCreary was among the 14 former Auburn players who got on the field on the 13th Sunday of the NFL's 105th season.
Two other former Auburn players were involved in the Tennessee-Washington game:
Week 13 started on Thursday, when the Detroit Lions defeated the Chicago Bears 23-20, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants 27-20 and the Green Bay Packers defeated the Miami Dolphins 30-17. Week 13 continued on Friday, when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 19-17.
