Girl ejected from car in crash on I-95 in Brevard County, FHP says

A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital after being ejected from a car in a crash on I-95 in Brevard County according to Florida Highway Patrol.FHP said the crash happened just after noon in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Melbourne in Brevard County. Troopers said a Lexus LS sedan was traveling above the posted speed limit and weaving between traffic when the driver attempted to change lanes into the outside lane, where it crashed into the left side of a semi-truck in that lane.The Lexus' driver lost control of the vehicle as it ran off the roadway to the right and overturned. The Lexus' driver, a 35-year-old man from Sebastian, was ejected from the car. A 13-year-old girl in the front passenger seat was also ejected during the crash. FHP said neither the driver nor the girl was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.Two other passengers in the Lexus, a 12-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy, were restrained and transported to Holmes Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.The girl was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital.The semi-truck's driver was not injured and remained at the scene. A partial roadblock in the area has been cleared as of 2 p.m. Sunday.
