UK snow arriving from today with five parts of England blanketed - Birmingham Live

Chilly conditions are heading to the UK, with further snow expected across the south of England.

Wales is expected to be wet, with up to 3mm of rainfall per hour, and the north-east coast, near Newcastle, will also see the same level of rain.

As for elsewhere in England, patches of rain will be felt in Cornwall, the Cotswolds, Manchester, Chester, Liverpool and Cambridge.

By Wednesday, November 19, at 3am, snow will expand further south.

Maps reveal that large parts of Scotland, Newcastle and the north of England will be covered.

However not only this, areas also affected will include Stoke-on-Trent, the Peak District, Sheffield and Doncaster.

These areas could see up to 1mm per hour of snowfall.

As for the south of England, most parts look to remain dry but small patches of rain will be seen across Cornwall, Bristol, Gloucester and the east of England.

By 9am, maps show snow depth could range from five to 10cm deep.

Places to be impacted by snow include Scotland, Cumbria, the Peak District, Sheffield, Doncaster, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham and Kent.

A Met Office forecast says: "An icy start for some, with rain and some hill snow clearing southeastwards through the morning.

"Dry and brighter thereafter with sunny spells.

"Frequent wintry showers for areas exposed to the cold northerly wind, heavy snow in places."

"Blustery snow showers continue to affect areas exposed to the cold northern wind, with some accumulations, especially over high ground.

"Dry with clear skies elsewhere with a widespread frost."
