Two suspects were arrested after police discovered $40,000 worth of stolen merchandise in Chino.
Chino police had been investigating a series of deaths targeting retail stores in the area.
After identifying two female suspects involved, a search warrant was served at a Santa Ana property where police found a large amount of stolen merchandise that was taken from retailers including Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Baby Gap and more.
Photos of the bust showed a large pile of clothing, accessories, and water bottles from Yeti, Owala, Hydroflask and more.
The total amount of stolen merchandise was valued at $40,000.
"A U-Haul truck was required to transport the items back to the station for processing," police said.
Officers did not release the suspects' identities. The stolen goods were later returned to their respective owners.
"By working closely with retail partners, our Retail Theft Unit continues to make a significant impact in the fight against organized retail crime," Chino police said.
