Commanders' Jayden Daniels ready for Micah Parsons showdown

Commanders' Jayden Daniels ready for Micah Parsons showdown

The Washington Commanders will face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field to kick off Week 2, and Jayden Daniels knows it's going to be a tough test.

Mainly due to Micah Parsons.

Having seen Micah twice last season when the All-Pro was a Dallas Cowboy, now he'll come face-to-face with Parsons as a Packer after Jerry Jones pulled the trigger on the astonishing trade.

Parsons terrorized the Detroit Lions in Week 1 while playing on a snap count and even got his first sack, mowing down Jared Goff late in the fourth quarter.

So, Daniels and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury will be well aware of game-planning for Parsons, right?

"Yeah, he got paid a lot of money, so I would think so," Daniels said. "You don't let game wreckers wreck the game, and you got to keep eye on him. He got paid a lot of money for a reason. He's a very good player."

Former NFL player and now analyst Brian Baldinger called it the "Micah Parsons problem" when trying to deal with the All-Pro pass rusher, and the Commanders' offensive line, which gave up three sacks to the New York Giants, is going to have to be buttoned up on Thursday night.

The Packers defense got after Goff and the Lions' offensive line, and with Parsons having another full week of practice to get further acclimated to his surroundings, he might not be on a pitch count.

So, a full-force Parsons could be expected, and that's nightmare fuel.

We know how easily Parsons can ruin games, and Kingsbury, along with his offensive staff, is going to have to put a plan in place to keep Micah at arm's length.
