Proposal to mostly end virtual attendance for Little Rock city board members fails to advance | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A proposal before the Little Rock Board of Directors to generally eliminate virtual meeting attendance as an option for city board members did not have the support to advance to a final vote on Tuesday.

Sponsored by City Director Capi Peck of Ward 4, the proposed ordinance would do away with procedures that were instituted during the covid-19 pandemic.

However, it would allow an elected official to participate in meetings remotely for up to 30 days at a time if a "certified health or medical emergency or condition" is established through the adoption of a city board resolution.

The 30-day period could be extended by an additional 30 days only if the city board adopted another resolution, the proposed ordinance says.
