Saquon Barkley celebrates NFL Week 1 honor by being slimed

It was an impressive debut with the Philadelphia Eagles for former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley scored three touchdowns in his first game with his new team as the Eagles managed to top the Green Bay Packers in Brazil to open the season. Barkley was named the NFC Player of the Week by the NFL, but the honors continued to come in for Barkley.

Or should we say ooze in?

Barkley was named the Nickelodeon "NVP" of Week 1 in the NFL's latest partnership with Nickelodeon. And what better way to celebrate a Nickelodeon honor than by being slimed?

Barkley accepted his Week 1 honor with a quick message of thanks before his daughter poured a bucket of green slime on him.

With his three touchdowns in his Eagles debut, Barkley became the second player in franchise history with three touchdowns in his first game with the Eagles. He joined former Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens with that feat. Barkley signed with the Eagles as a free agent after the New York Giants opted not to bring him back on a contract.

Barkley and the Eagles will play their true home opener on Monday night for a Week 2 primetime game against the Atlanta Falcons.
